Foley won against St. Luke's Episcopal last Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Foley Lions put the hurt on the Davidson Warriors with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Brady Nichols's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kolby Jordan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 16 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Glass, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Jordan wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Foley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davidson only managed one hit.

The win (which was Foley's third in a row) raised their record to 13-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Davidson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Foley Lions challenge Citronelle Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Citronelle has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something Foley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Davidson, they will square off against Satsuma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Satsuma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
