Softball Game Preview: Red Jacket vs. Honeoye Bulldogs

Red Jacket is 2-8 against Honeoye since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Red Jacket will venture away from home to face off against Honeoye at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Red Jacket is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Naples on Wednesday. They lost 16-1 to the Big Green Machines. Red Jacket just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

Dundee/Bradford Central hit Honeoye with a 11-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs came up short against the BraveScots, falling 18-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the BraveScots: they've now lost three in a row.

Honeoye's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Red Jacket, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Red Jacket was able to grind out a solid win over Honeoye in their previous matchup last Monday, winning 12-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Jacket since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
