Basketball Game Preview: Gateway College Preparatory Gators vs. Jarrell Cougars

Gateway College Preparatory and Jarrell are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Gateway College Preparatory Gators will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Jarrell Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Gateway College Preparatory is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

On Tuesday, Gateway College Preparatory was able to grind out a solid win over Marble Falls, taking the game 50-39.

Meanwhile, Jarrell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 34-29 to Lampasas. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1120th, while the Badgers are ranked 400th).

Gateway College Preparatory has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Jarrell, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Gateway College Preparatory didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jarrell in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. Will Gateway College Preparatory repeat their success, or does Jarrell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
