Baseball Recap: Dominion Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at 16 Games

It was a good run, but Dominion Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tallulah Falls Indians.

Gabe Buckner was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Buckner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Buckner wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Canaan Bowen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Dominion Christian's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Tallulah Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Dominion Christian will challenge Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dominion Christian 3.4, Bethlehem Christian Academy 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Tallulah Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
