Recap: Collegedale Academy Collegedale Eagle vs. Sale Creek Panthers
The Collegedale Academy Collegedale Eagle lost against the Sale Creek Panthers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Collegedale Academy received a tough blow as they fell 45-30 to Sale Creek. While losing is never fun, Collegedale Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Sale Creek is ranked 93rd).
Leading Sale Creek to victory were Caroline Holland and Madilynn Ellis. Holland scored 10 points along with 5 steals, while Ellis scored 10 points along with 4 steals. The matchup was Holland's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Arnold, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Collegedale Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Sale Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collegedale Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Sale Creek won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grace Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th.
