Football Recap: Brooks County Trojans vs. Thomasville Bulldogs
Brooks County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 35-7 defeat at the hands of the Thomasville Bulldogs on Friday. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-0.
Junior Burrus threw for 113 yards and one TD. Trae Stevenson was his top target, picking up 73 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Damari Baynard rushed for 29 yards.
Leading Thomasville to victory were Cam Hill and Lavonte Cole. Hill rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while Cole rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. What's more, Hill posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.
Brooks County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cook at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Thomasville, they will square off against Pelham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
