Basketball Recap: Terrance Meredith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christel House over Indianapolis Shortridge

After flying high against Irvington Preparatory Academy last Saturday, Christel House came back down to earth. The Christel House Eagles fell just short of the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils by a score of 63-60 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Christel House's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Meredith, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and three steals. Meredith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Pai'Re Loving was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indianapolis Shortridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Wilson, who posted 19 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Gavin Lowery, who put up 15 points.

Christel House has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

Christel House wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-56 win against Lebanon on the 14th. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-51 loss against Purdue Polytechnic on the 13th.
