Crosby took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Hardin-Jefferson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crosby Cougars won by a run and slipped past the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since February 27th.

Crosby is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. With the defeat, Hardin-Jefferson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-9-1.
