Softball Recap: Santa Teresa Takes a Loss

Santa Teresa couldn't beat Leland on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Saints fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 9-8. The Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

Olivia Montes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Savanna Herbst was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

Santa Teresa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Leland, their record is now 4-5.

Coming up, Santa Teresa will square off against Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leland, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ann Sobrato at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
