Softball Recap: Thurston Starts Season with Victory at Home

Thurston took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Caldera 19-18. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Daphnie Heckel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Raygan Litle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Thurston has already played their next match, a 7-5 victory against Henley on the 24th. As for Caldera, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Rocky Mountain on the 21st.
