Basketball Recap: All Saints Episcopal School Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Hannah Owen and Lauren Brashear

After flying high against Crosbyton last Saturday, All Saints Episcopal School came back down to earth. The All Saints Episcopal School Patriots took a 51-33 bruising from the Sands Mustangs on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-15 two weeks ago.

Lauren Brashear and Hannah Owen certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Brashear went 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds, while Owen posted four points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, Owen is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Jeanelle Imiere, who posted three points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, All Saints Episcopal School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

All Saints Episcopal School's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Sands, their record now sits at 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. All Saints Episcopal School will head out to face off against Lorenzo at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Lorenzo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Sands will take on Reagan County in a holiday battle at at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Sands is facing Reagan County at the right time seeing as Reagan County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
