Recap: Hobart Brickies vs. Hammond Morton Governors
The Hobart Brickies suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Hammond Morton, falling 75-45. Hobart was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hammond Morton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Hobart's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Leonard, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Felix Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Hobart are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6. As for Hammond Morton, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hobart will square off against Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kankakee Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Hammond Morton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lawrence North at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. The timing is sure in Lawrence North's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Hammond Morton has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
