Recap: Pitman Pride vs. Turlock Bulldogs
There's no place like home for the Pitman Pride, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They strolled past Turlock with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 62-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pitman also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Pitman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Martin out in front who scored 18 points along with five steals. Martin hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Justin Anderson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Turlock's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Evans and Andrew Johnson. Evans dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Johnson scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Izaak Saenz, who scored six points.
Turlock struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pitman racked up 15 assists.
Pitman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Turlock, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
Pitman will look to defend their home court on Monday against Enochs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Pitman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Turlock, they will be playing at home against Downey at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Downey is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
