Baseball Game Preview: Warrenton Warriors vs. St. Charles Pirates

For the second straight game, Warrenton will face off against St. Charles. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Pirates at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Warrenton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so St. Charles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Warrenton's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Charles with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mason Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Haas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Warrenton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Charles, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.
