Basketball Recap: Cora Loveless and Amaya St. Hilaire Secure Win for West Lafayette

West Lafayette's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-41 win over the Lebanon Tigers. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 55-43 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Leading West Lafayette to victory were Amaya St. Hilaire and Cora Loveless. St. Hilaire almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Loveless shot 50% from the field en route to 20 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, St. Hilaire now owns an excellent 46.1% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Emma Garringer, who posted five points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Lebanon's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jade Mount, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Mount continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Katie Boling also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

West Lafayette's record now sits at 2-5. As for Lebanon, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

West Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-40 defeat against Faith Christian on the 2nd. As for Lebanon, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-32 win against Clinton Prairie on the 2nd.
