Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Lynx vs. West Seattle

The Lincoln Lynx will take on West Seattle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Thursday, Lincoln came up short against Ballard and fell 19-14. Even though they lost, the Lynx's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Dakota Blokker was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brienna Minton, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, West Seattle came up short against Garfield on Tuesday, falling 15-2.

Kaila Ignacio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Seattle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

West Seattle's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for West Seattle, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Lincoln's sizable advantage in that area, West Seattle will need to find a way to close that gap.

Lincoln took their victory against West Seattle in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Seattle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
