Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Eagle Rock

For the first time this season, Marshall will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Eagle Rock Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Marshall will be strutting in after a victory while Eagle Rock will be coming in after a defeat.

If Eagle Rock heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Marshall took over last week. The Barristers' defense stepped up to hand Bernstein a 1-0 shutout on Monday. Jonathan Aquino had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Marshall.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Eagle Rock challenged Crescenta Valley on Wednesday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Falcons.

Eagle Rock's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Marshall skirted past Eagle Rock 2-1 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barristers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
