Softball Recap: Hueytown Golden Gophers vs. Jasper Vikings
Hueytown came out on top against Jasper on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Golden Gophers skirted past the Vikings 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Golden Gophers: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 4-2 loss.
Bryanna Kemp made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kemp was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
