Softball Recap: Castlewood Falls Short Against Ranked Dakota Valley

Castlewood faced Dakota Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors lost 9-1 to the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Castlewood's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Dakota Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Castlewood will challenge Redfield on Tuesday. The Pheasants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.79 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. Dakota Valley has already played their next contest (against Avon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
