Mildred dropped down to 8-3 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 71-62 to the Cayuga Wildcats. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

As for Cayuga, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games.

Cayuga's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Jenkins led the charge by going 11-for-18 en route to 28 points and five boards. Levi Satterwhite was another key player, shooting 56% from the field on his way to 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mildred and Riesel will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cayuga will take on Kerens in a holiday battle at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
