Soccer Game Preview: Vinton-Shellsburg vs. Center Point-Urbana

Vinton-Shellsburg is 1-9 against Center Point-Urbana since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Stormin' Pointers. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vinton-Shellsburg's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Bellevue. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Vinton-Shellsburg.

Meanwhile, Center Point-Urbana came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Easton Valley. Center Point-Urbana's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Center Point-Urbana's victory bumped their record up to 19-3-4. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, their win bumped their record up to 12-7-4.
