Football Game Preview: Bishop McNamara Mustangs vs. Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons

Bishop McNamara is 0-9 against Our Lady of Good Counsel since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bishop McNamara is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: St. John's, who was ranked first in their home state at the time (Bishop McNamara was ranked eighth). The Mustangs lost 28-7 to the Cadets on Saturday.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Our Lady of Good Counsel took on Gonzaga last Saturday. The Falcons fell 13-7 to the Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bishop McNamara now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Bishop McNamara couldn't quite finish off Our Lady of Good Counsel in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 18-16. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
