Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Holy Cross waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

While Holy Cross won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-5.

Holy Cross got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Clemons out in front who had ten digs and five aces. That's the most aces Clemons has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah Evans, who had seven digs, five aces, and two blocks.

They weren't the only good server: Holy Cross was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive matches.

Holy Cross' record is now 8-3. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-3.

Holy Cross has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Portland Christian on the 6th. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Francis Parker on the 8th.
