After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Africentric Early College, Marion-Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the West Cowboys by a score of 23-12. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, West saw an underclassman step up: freshman George Carter rushed for 43 yards and six TDs, and also threw for 12 yards and one touchdown.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for West, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marion-Franklin is set to take on their familiar foe Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West will square off against rival Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
