Basketball Recap: Lauryn Keilman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Inglemoor

Bellevue won the last time they faced Inglemoor and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bellevue Wolverines walked away with a 51-44 victory over the Inglemoor Vikings. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Vikings are ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bellevue's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauryn Keilman, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points in addition to eight blocks and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Keilman a new career-high in blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena LaBow, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Bellevue smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Bellevue's record is now 16-3. As for Inglemoor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue will venture away from home to square off against Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Inglemoor, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mercer Island at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mercer Island is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
