Baseball Recap: Mohawk Area Takes a Loss

Mohawk Area fell victim to Riverside and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-0. The Warriors have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mohawk Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vinny Pezzuolo, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Mohawk Area's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Riverside, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Mohawk Area will be playing at home against Beaver Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverside, they will venture away from home to square off against Sto-Rox at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
