Football Recap: Anclote Falls to Central in First Game of Season

Anclote unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Central Bears 27-0 on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Casey Lightfoot Jr threw for 125 yards on seven of 16 attempts. Devin Schafer was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards.

Niko Demos looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 74 yards and two scores on only eight carries, while also throwing for 21 yards and one TD.

Anclote didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-0 loss against Sunlake on the 29th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 27-6 win against Interlachen on the 29th.
