Baseball Preview: Oak Harbor Rockets vs. Clay Eagles
The Oak Harbor Rockets will head out to take on the Clay Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Harbor is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
On Saturday, Oak Harbor made easy work of Toledo Christian and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Rockets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael LaLonde was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Cooper Schultz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Oak Harbor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clay was able to grind out a solid victory over Columbian on Monday, taking the game 4-1.
Oak Harbor's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Clay, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
