Volleyball Recap: Cherryville Comes Up Short

Cherryville lost against Burns back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ironmen fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Cherryville sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 16-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Cherryville still got an impressive performance from Kate Bookout, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Cherryville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Burns, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home.

Looking ahead, Cherryville will host Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burns, they will head out to square off against West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
