Baseball Recap: Osceola Wins Going Away Against IMG Academy Navy

IMG Academy Navy typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Osceola proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the IMG Academy Navy Ascenders with a sharp 8-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Osceola got a great performance from Cooper Walker as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Walker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Richard Stegbauer and Kaden DeLeeuw did most of the damage at the plate: Stegbauer went 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while DeLeeuw scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave DeLeeuw a new career-high in RBI (two). Preston Hamelynck also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Osceola's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for IMG Academy Navy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osceola will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for IMG Academy Navy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Treasure Coast at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. IMG Academy Navy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
