Baseball Recap: Kankakee Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kankakee Valley extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 5-4-1 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Morgan Township Cherokees. The Kougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cherokees, too.

Elliott Patton looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Declan Murr, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Kankakee Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4-1 when he doesn't).
