Recap: The First Academy Royals vs. West Orange Warriors
The third road matchup was the charm for The First Academy Royals, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 58-31 victory over West Orange.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cael Lerner, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Lerner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Max Simmons, who scored 14 points.
The First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Orange, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
The First Academy will head out on the road to face off against Central Florida Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central Florida Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday. As for West Orange, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Apopka at 7:30 p.m. Apopka presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Orange in Florida (Apopka is ranked 186th, while West Orange is ranked 603rd).
