Volleyball Recap: SALLY BALLAT and BROOKLYNN CARLUCCI Secure Win for Apple Valley

Apple Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Pacific Pirates by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Sun Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Apple Valley was led to victory by BROOKLYNN CARLUCCI and SALLY BALLAT. CARLUCCI had eight aces, while BALLAT had ten assists and four aces. Those four aces gave BALLAT a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Apple Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Apple Valley will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Palm Springs at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Pacific has already played their next match (against San Gorgonio), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
