Baseball Recap: Washougal Takes a Loss

Washougal fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against R.A. Long on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lumberjacks by a score of 8-7. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Lucas Orr and Samuel McKee did some serious damage despite the final result: Orr scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while McKee went 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple was McKee's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen MacDonald, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Washougal's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for R.A. Long, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Washougal is set to take on their familiar foe Ridgefield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, R.A. Long will square off against rival Hockinson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
