Poway came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Agoura Chargers by a score of 7-2.

Mya McGowan was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alyssa Menges was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Poway's record is now 10-2. As for Agoura, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.

Poway didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Los Alamitos on the 3rd. As for Agoura, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Chino Hills on the 3rd.
