Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Soraya Dennis and Lizzy Robinson Lead Mater Dei to Victory

Mater Dei won the last time they faced Los Alamitos and things went their way on Thursday too. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Monarchs.

While Mater Dei won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-22.

Leading Mater Dei to victory were Lizzy Robinson and Soraya Dennis. Robinson had 11 digs and four assists, while Dennis had 15 assists. That's the most assists Dennis has posted since back in October of 2024.

Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Los Alamitos, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Mater Dei will challenge Trinity Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Los Alamitos, they will take on Huntington Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
