Volleyball Recap: NorthWood Panthers vs. West Noble Chargers
NorthWood had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the West Noble Chargers on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
NorthWood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.
Anna Roeder had an outrageously good game as she had 22 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Despite the defeat, West Noble saw an underclassman step up: Darcy Ritchie had 14 digs and two aces.
NorthWood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for West Noble, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 25-8 record.
After both having extra time off, NorthWood and New Prairie will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Prairie is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, so NorthWood will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. West Noble does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
