Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Longhorns vs. Sierra Vista Mountain Lions

The Legacy Longhorns will take on the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.

Legacy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Palo Verde by a score of 74-61.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sierra Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They strolled past Valley with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 85-70. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Vikings are ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points over those games. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.

Legacy took a serious blow against Sierra Vista in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, falling 70-34. Thankfully for Legacy, Chris Mccoy (who went 13-for-18 on his way to 27 points and six boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
