Softball Game Preview: Woodrow Wilson Bruins vs. Compton Tarbabes

Woodrow Wilson is a perfect 10-0 against Compton since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bruins will challenge the Tarbabes at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Woodrow Wilson's offense. They fell 3-0 to Millikan on Tuesday. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Alexsa Barrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Compton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Cabrillo, falling 23-10. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked the Tarbabes' highest-scoring contest to date.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Woodrow Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Everything went Woodrow Wilson's way against Compton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Woodrow Wilson made off with a 17-0 victory. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Tarbabes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
