Basketball Recap: New Athens Comes Up Short + How To Watch

New Athens had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 47-27 to the Roxana Shells on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Despite the loss, New Athens still got an impressive performance from Brooke Deterding, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 18 points and five steals.

Looking ahead, New Athens will take on Metro-East Lutheran in a tournament on Thursday. As for Roxana, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Father McGivney Catholic at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
