Tatum waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lufkin Panthers. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their court since August 8, 2019.

Tatum had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Tatum's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Lufkin, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-4.
