After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Henderson, Owen was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Polk County Wolverines 17-14. For the Warhorses, this counts as revenge for the 22-0 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Emmett Minks threw for 52 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Hayden Burpeau rushed for 58 yards on only eight carries.

Despite the loss, Polk County still got an impressive performance from Loreynzo Sanchez, who rushed for 189 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and one TD. Sanchez is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season.

Owen now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Polk County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
