Basketball Game Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Mitchell County Eagles

The Terrell County Greenwave will venture away from home to challenge the Mitchell County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terrell County is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Terrell County will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Westover, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Greenwave came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 35-28 on Saturday. Those 35 points were actually the fewest the Greenwave have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Terrell County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ceailaja Samuel out in front who posted 16 points. That's the most points Samuel has posted since back in January of 2025. Chassidy Franklin was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Mitchell County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Pelham and fell 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Hornets are ranked 113th).

Mitchell County's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Terrell County, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Terrell County strolled past Mitchell County in their previous meeting back in December of 2025 by a score of 36-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenwave since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
