Soccer Game Preview: Broome vs. Woodruff

Broome is 0-10 against Woodruff since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Centurions will head out to square off against the Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. Broome has given up an average of 5.4 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Broome's offense. They lost 13-0 to Chapman last Friday. Broome have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Woodruff came tearing into last Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lions a 9-0 shutout. Considering Woodruff have won eight games by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Woodruff's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those six contests. As for Broome, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Broome suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Woodruff in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
