Mansfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Martin, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.

Mansfield was able to grind out a solid win over Martin in their previous matchup back in October of 2017, winning 27-16. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Martin's Juma Otoviano, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
