Pinckneyville typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Johnston City proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Panthers. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Peyton Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zoee Cullum was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Johnston City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive matches.

Johnston City is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Pinckneyville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Johnston City nor Pinckneyville have any future games scheduled.
