Recap: Covenant Christian Warriors vs. Traders Point Christian Knights
The Covenant Christian Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Traders Point Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-43 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Covenant Christian has managed all season.
Among those leading the charge was Nathan Crane, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jameson Laughlin, who scored 14 points.
Traders Point Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Gage Fisher and Andrew Hensley. Fisher scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Hensley scored 16 points along with five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him.
Speaking of assists, Traders Point Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Christian only racked up 23 assists.
Covenant Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Traders Point Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Covenant Christian will head out on the road to face off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Traders Point Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horizon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Horizon Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
