Softball Recap: Johnson Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Johnson Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the South Point Pointers 8-6.

Keylee Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Johnson Central got a massive performance out of Leah Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mayson Delong, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.

Johnson Central's record is now 10-6. As for South Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Coming up, Johnson Central will head out to take on Paintsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
