Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Biggs' 11th in Last 12 Outings

Biggs barely beat Hamilton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Braves on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gracie Sheppard made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sheppard wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mailey Seipert, who went 2-for-5 with two runs. Another was Lyllian Baxter, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Biggs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only posted a batting average of .179.

Biggs is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Biggs beat the Braves by a score of 4-3 on Friday.
