Soccer Game Preview: Clinton vs. Croatan

The Clinton Dark Horses will challenge the Croatan Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Croatan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Clinton, who comes in off a win.

Clinton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out West Brunswick 2-1. Even though the Dark Horses got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Evan Gillespie was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Jenna Jackson and Larkin Best scored both of Clinton's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, Croatan fell victim to Fike and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Clinton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for Croatan, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-2.

Clinton was able to grind out a solid victory over Croatan when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 2-0. Does Clinton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Croatan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
